Senior Paralegal, Defensive
for section headings (About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)
2. Use - for lists of duties/requirements/benefits, and
for prose
3. Do NOT repeat the job title as a heading
4. Do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a short
or drop it
5. Preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail
6. Remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions
7. Include a section ONLY when the posting has real, specific content for it — never emit a heading followed by filler/placeholder text
8. Never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them
9. Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones
10. Output ONLY the HTML fragment — no /, no markdown code fences
Let me analyze the job posting content:
- Location/Remote work info: Fairfax or Charlottesville, VA; Silver Spring, MD; Newark or Haddonfield, NJ; IL, NY. Hybrid for first 90 days, potential full-remote afterward with occasional in-office days. Reports to Director of Legal Operations, Department: Defensive, FLSA Status: Non-Exempt. This is metadata about the position.
- About us: Company description
- Position Overview: Description of the role
- Key Responsibilities: List of duties
- Required Qualifications: List of requirements
- Preferred Qualifications: List of preferred qualifications
- Benefits: List of benefits
- Why Join Us?: Closing pitch
I need to structure this into appropriate sections. The rules say to use
for section headings like "About the role", "Responsibilities", "Requirements", "Qualifications", "Skills", "Benefits", "Pay", "Schedule". But I should only include sections that have real content.
Let me map:
- "About us" could be "About the role" or "About the company" - but the rule says "About the role" as a heading example. The posting has "About us" and "Position Overview". I could combine or separate.
- "Key Responsibilities" -> "Responsibilities"
- "Required Qualifications" -> "Requirements" or "Qualifications"
- "Preferred Qualifications" -> could be part of Qualifications or separate
- "Benefits" -> "Benefits"
- "Why Join Us?" -> could be part of Benefits or separate, but it's more of a closing pitch.
The metadata (Location, Position Type, Reports To, Department, FLSA Status) should be folded into a short
or dropped. Since it's substantive info about the job, I'll include it in a brief paragraph, perhaps under an "About the role" section or as a standalone paragraph before sections.
The rules: "Do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a short
or drop it." This metadata is not Job ID but location, type, etc. It's relevant. I'll include it in a paragraph.
I need to decide on sections. The posting has clear sections: About us, Position Overview, Key Responsibilities, Required Qualifications, Preferred Qualifications, Benefits, Why Join Us.
I'll create:
- About the role (combining About us and Position Overview? Or separate? The rule says "About the role" as a heading example. I'll use "About the role" for the company description and role overview.)
- Responsibilities
- Requirements (for required qualifications)
- Qualifications (for preferred qualifications? But "Qualifications" might be ambiguous. The rule lists "Qualifications" as a possible heading. I could have "Requirements" and "Preferred Qualifications" as separate, but the rule says "Requirements, Qualifications" as examples. I'll use "Requirements" for required and "Preferred Qualifications" for preferred, but the heading should be
Preferred Qualifications
? The rule says use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So "Qualifications" is a suggested heading. I could have "Requirements" and "Qualifications" but that might be confusing. Better to have "Required Qualifications" and "Preferred Qualifications" as headings? But the rule says use those example headings. However, it says "e.g." so it's not exhaustive. I think using "Required Qualifications" and "Preferred Qualifications" as is fine, as they are specific.
But the rule: "use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)". It doesn't forbid other headings. I'll use headings that match the content.
I'll structure:
- A paragraph for the metadata (location, type, reports to, department, FLSA status)
- About the role
with prose for About us and Position Overview
- Responsibilities
with - for each bullet
-
Required Qualifications
with -
-
Preferred Qualifications
with -
-
Benefits
with - (the benefits are listed as bullet points)
- "Why Join Us?" could be a paragraph under Benefits or separate. Since it's a pitch, I'll include it as a paragraph after Benefits or as a separate section. The rule says prefer a few substantive sections. I'll include it as a paragraph under a
Why Join Us
? But that's not in the example list. However, the posting has it as a section. I'll include it as a section with prose.
But the rule: "include a section ONLY when the posting has real, specific content for it". "Why Join Us?" has content. So I'll include it.
Now, the metadata: "Location / Remote work: Fairfax or Charlottesville, VA; Silver Spring, MD; Newark or Haddonfield, NJ; IL, NY. Position Type: Full-time, hybrid for the first 90 days; potential full-remote afterward with occasional in-office days (a few per year) Reports To: Director of Legal Operations Department: Defensive FLSA Status: Non -Exempt"
I'll put this in a at the beginning, maybe with line breaks or as a single paragraph. Since it's metadata, I'll fold into a short
. I'll write it as a paragraph.
Now, ensure no duplication. The posting has "Position Overview" which mentions hybrid/remote again. I'll keep it in the overview but the metadata paragraph already covers it. I'll keep both but avoid duplication? The rule says preserve ALL substantive information. The overview has more detail about the role. I'll keep the metadata paragraph separate and then the overview in About the role.
Let me draft HTML.
First, metadata paragraph:
Location: Fairfax or Charlottesville, VA; Silver Spring, MD; Newark or Haddonfield, NJ; IL, NY. Position Type: Full-time, hybrid for the first 90 days; potential full-remote afterward with occasional in-office days (a few per year). Reports To: Director of Legal Operations. Department: Defensive. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.
Then sections.
About the role: combine "About us" and "Position Overview". Both are prose. I'll put them in separate paragraphs under the same heading.
