Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and finalize mortgage assignments, UCC assignments and terminations, satisfactions of mortgage, releases, and related closing documents.
- Review collateral files, mortgage schedules, title reports, and other transaction documents to facilitate loan payoffs and principal paydowns.
- Prepare release documentation for individual properties from multi-property mortgage loan facilities, including splitter documentation when required.
- Prepare releases for loans secured by cooperative units.
- Cook with lenders, borrowers, borrower and assignee counsel, title companies, escrow agents, and internal attorneys to ensure timely completion of payoff and paydown transactions.
- Track transaction status and follow up on outstanding items to ensure all closing requirements and conditions have been satisfied.
- Maintain accurate transaction files and assist with other commercial real estate finance matters as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5-7 years of commercial real estate finance paralegal experience, with significant experience representing institutional lenders.
- Demonstrated experience handling commercial mortgage loan payoffs, principal paydowns, assignments, satisfactions, and related documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal document management systems.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $80,000 – $110,000. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
