About the role

We are seeking an Application Programmer III to join our team and support a Technology Finance project focused on new application development. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Oracle Database development, advanced PL/SQL, SQL performance tuning, and data modeling, and a proven ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Oracle database objects, including PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Create and optimize tables, views, indexes, and materialized views, with a focus on performance and scalability.
  • Perform performance tuning and query optimization for high-volume enterprise applications.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and resolve production issues within agreed service levels.
  • Create technical design documents, data flow diagrams, and deployment plans that meet audit and governance standards.
  • Support application releases, code promotions, and change management activities across environments.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and data governance requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate requirement-gathering sessions and design reviews, ensuring clarity and alignment.
  • Explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and senior management.
  • Provide status updates, risks, and dependencies to management and project teams.
  • Collaborate with QA, developers, business analysts, and project managers to deliver on schedule.
  • Document solutions thoroughly and maintain accurate technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Oracle Database 19c or later, with advanced PL/SQL development expertise.
  • Strong SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
  • Data modeling and database design for enterprise-scale applications.
  • Version control tools such as Git and Bitbucket.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications and production environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to gather, clarify, and document complex requirements and lead technical discussions.
  • Strong documentation and analytical skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with strong teamwork and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data analytics in Oracle ecosystems.
  • Background in Financial Services or Technology Finance projects.
