Senior Oracle OCI Database Administrator (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure DBA)

Job Description

Only qualified Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer candidates located in the Richmond, VA area will be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence.

Experience Desired

• Oracle grid control to include version 13c (7 yrs)
• Oracle weblogic 12c/fusion middleware (7 yrs)
• Oracle db migration from solaris to linux (database 12c/11g) (10 yrs)
• Oracle database backup/restore/rman/dataguard (10 yrs)
• Oracle cloud setup/AWS/Azure administration (3 yrs)
• Windows/sql server/IIS administration (5 yrs)

Preferred Certifications/Licenses

• Certification in Oracle technologies such as OCIP, OCP, or OCE

Job Responsibilities

• Design and manage Oracle OCI environments, including database, middleware, and infrastructure components
• Develop and maintain Oracle APEX applications and ORDS services
• Configure and administer Oracle WebLogic Server and related technologies
• Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and conversions
• Implement and manage backup, recovery, and replication strategies using RMAN and other tools
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection
• Monitor and optimize database performance, implementing tuning recommendations
• Implement and automate routine tasks using shell scripting and tools like Ansible
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to ensure seamless application deployment
• Proactively identify and resolve potential issues, providing timely support
• Document and train on best practices for Oracle OCI environment management
