About the role

This role is for a 12-month position focusing on database administration and development.

Responsibilities

• Knowledgeable about data integration tools like Actian/Pentaho
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Extensive expertise in one or multiple database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
• Crafting efficient database schemas, establishing relationships between tables, maintaining data integrity, and enhancing database structures for optimal performance
• Formulating backup plans, scheduling backup procedures, validating restore processes through testing, and executing disaster recovery plans
• Addressing performance bottlenecks, fine-tuning SQL queries, adjusting database parameters, deploying indexing strategies, and analyzing database statistics
• Proficient in one or more Unix scripting languages
• Creating Shell Scripts for invoking SQL scripts
• Developing client-server applications using Oracle 19c, PL/SQL, SQL *Plus, and TOAD
• Implementing Table Functions, Indexes, Table Partitioning, Collections, Analytical functions, Materialized Views, Query Rewriting, and Transportable table spaces
• Understanding and utilizing Oracle performance-related features such as Query Optimizer, Execution Plans, and Indexes
• Working with data warehouse concepts, ETL processes

Requirements

• 5 years of programming experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer
• 3 years of creating Shell Scripts experience for invoking SQL scripts
• 5 years of Oracle performance-related features such as Query Optimizer, Execution Plans, and Indexes
• 5 years of client-server application development using Oracle 19c, PL/SQL, SQL *Plus, and TOAD
• 2 years of experience with data warehouse concepts, ETL
