Responsibilities
- Design, administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise Oracle database environments.
- Manage Oracle databases across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
- Provide database administration support for SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL environments.
- Configure and manage High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), replication, and failover solutions.
- Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies using appropriate database tools and technologies.
- Perform database performance monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Analyze SQL queries, execution plans, indexes, memory usage, and database workloads to improve performance.
- Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, patching, and version upgrades with minimal business disruption.
- Implement database security controls, including access management, roles, privileges, encryption, auditing, and compliance.
- Monitor database health, capacity, availability, and resource utilization.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide root-cause analysis for production incidents.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in Database Administration.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Oracle Database administration.
- Experience with SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL administration.
- Hands-on experience with HA, replication, failover, and disaster recovery.
- Proven experience in database performance tuning and SQL optimization.
- Experience with database migration, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting production enterprise database environments.
- Strong understanding of database architecture, storage, memory management, and resource utilization.
- Strong knowledge of backup and recovery concepts and implementation.
- Strong understanding of database security, access controls, auditing, and encryption.
- Strong SQL and scripting skills; Oracle DBA Certification is preferred.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
