Senior Oracle Database Administrator
About the role
Wabtec is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Oracle DBA to join their dynamic team. This role is part of the Digital Technology team, responsible for delivering mission-critical database and Oracle EBS solutions.
Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, configure, tune, debug, and patch all components of the Oracle 19c technology stack, including Oracle GRID, ASM, Clusterware, and database instances
- Install, upgrade, configure, tune, and debug all aspects of Oracle DataGuard
- Maintain and monitor Cloud databases and components
- Tune and debug Oracle EBS
- Monitor database performance, space utilization, and ensure database availability
- Manage and implement Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c
- Design, implement, and maintain database and infrastructure security
- Support and integrate COTS and/or developed products within the Oracle database framework
- Develop and implement HA/DR solutions to ensure application availability
- Develop and automate repetitive processes to minimize errors and maximize service delivery
- Communicate and interface with various support teams and senior management
- Provide 24/7/365 support for applications based in local data centers and the cloud (AWS & OCI)
- Research and propose changes to support business requirements
- Manage the general contractor DBA team to ensure they follow standards and meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Manage ticketing and incidents in ServiceNow to ensure SLAs are met or exceeded
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise Oracle environments (12c or higher)
- Expertise in Oracle 19c administration and related tools
- Proven experience implementing Oracle 19c GRID/RAC architecture on RedHat Enterprise Linux
- Proficiency in SSH/KSH/BASH scripting
- Advanced Data Guard expertise (switchover and debugging)
- Experience with cloud environment technologies, preferably AWS, OCI
- Knowledge of Oracle security best practices and patching methodologies
- Strong understanding of Oracle tuning and operational support best practices
- Operations mindset - understanding, implementation, and operation of ITSM at scale

Pay

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment. Minimal travel requirements: most work can be accomplished via conference and video calls, team chats, etc.
