About the role

BGIS is a leading provider of integrated real estate management services, including facilities management, project management, energy & sustainability services, strategic workplace consulting, real estate services, and capital planning. The Senior Operations Manager will join the team in Tampa, FL, ensuring the implementation of policies and procedures to meet quality standards while supporting clients to focus on their core businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, communicate, and meet performance standards for the facility team.
  • Interview, orient, and train new facility team members; review and document individual performance.
  • Deliver regular individual performance feedback and maintain ongoing facility training and certification programs.
  • Support individual professional development and career planning.
  • Provide requirements for program managers per site and participate in selection and hiring of facility engineers.
  • Accept responsibility for assigned program managers, continuous quality improvement, and cost management.
  • Act as an agent of BGIS at all times.
  • Define and deploy quality assurance strategies.
  • Oversee daily activities and deliverables for the GCET program manager; report status to the Operations Director.
  • Ensure successful and timely completion of assigned projects using appropriate resources while balancing customer requirements with company strategies.
  • Write operating procedures for new and existing accounts as qualified.
  • Transition newly awarded accounts as assigned.
  • Engage in consultative selling or upselling of current client programs.
  • Meet project deadlines and manage assigned program managers tactically.
  • Manage and implement the project schedule; establish and gain agreement on deliverables and delivery dates.
  • Provide ongoing updates to internal teams and customers regarding project status and progress.
  • Define customer project requirements.
  • Communicate with other BGIS departments to ensure agreements are successfully managed, opportunities maximized, and customers satisfied.
  • Collaborate with BGIS National Critical Environments Teams for cross-utilization of best practices and idea sharing.
  • Prioritize, coordinate, and deliver special projects as assigned.
  • Regulate Critical Environment facility management services to prevent business impact and equipment downtime.
  • Establish objectives and processes to maintain critical infrastructure at optimum performance.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and ensure the check and balance program meets and exceeds deliverables.
  • Ensure excellence in delivery against Quality Assurance department goals and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain policy for documentation of all Quality Assurance processes.
  • Manage and respond to Quality Assurance issues with related groups such as Operations, National Critical Environments Team, Center of Excellence, and Information Technology.
  • Develop, implement, and manage Quality Assurance metrics for performance improvement related to client and company contracts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Twelve (12) years of experience in data center and/or facility management.
  • Knowledge of Data Center Operations and System configurations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio); working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team building and training skills.
  • Provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office (reimbursed).
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, overtime as required, and be "on call" on a 24 x 7 basis for emergency situations.
