Senior Operations Manager (Operations Manager I)

About the role

The Waving Manager oversees the wave planning and execution process, ensuring timely and efficient handling of customer orders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze order volumes and shipping deadlines
• Coordinate with warehouse management systems (WMS) to create effective waves
• Prioritize high-urgency or time-sensitive orders
• Monitor real-time progress of picking waves
• Adjust wave release timing to avoid bottlenecks in picking or packing areas
• Ensure labor is properly allocated across waves
• Work closely with: Inventory control, Picking and packing supervisors, Outbound teams
• Ensure smooth transitions from one operational step to another
• Use WMS or ERP systems to: Trigger waves, Track wave status, Troubleshoot system or order issues
• Track metrics like: Wave completion times, Order accuracy, Throughput efficiency
• Report issues or delays and recommend improvements

Requirements

• Strong understanding of warehouse processes
• WMS proficiency (e.g., Manhattan, SAP EWM, Oracle)
• Attention to detail and problem-solving
• Communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 1+ years logistics industry experience
• 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role
• Experience with P&L management, objective setting, and project management (preferred)

Pay

Senior Operations Manager (Operations Manager I) national salary range: $85,000 - $100,000. For roles within California and Washington, the range is $85,000 to $110,000.
