Senior Operations Manager (Onsite)
What You Will Do
The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of aircraft components to customers, including all aspects of MRO operations and delivery, and will work in conjunction with Quality, EHS, HR, CORE, Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Maintenance, and Facilities in support of the site’s operations. Additionally, the Operations Manager will be responsible for maximizing profit through shop efficiencies, increased throughput across all value streams (cells), staffing, etc. This is a key leadership role for the facility with visibility toward potential site general management succession.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a safety-first work culture that exceeds safety performance goals and strives towards zero injuries, including supporting all EH&S efforts and aligning with all applicable regulatory and company EHS rules.
- Promote and foster a culture of Quality.
- Achie throughput, repair sales, and EBIT targets.
- Develop and execute capacity planning models for manpower and equipment enhancements, including customer satisfaction and employee engagement.
- Drive productivity, turn-around-time (TAT), and on-time delivery (OTD).
- Partner with HR to accelerate staffing efforts, including effectiveness and sustainability of on-the-job training (OJT) for new hires.
- Lead a team of Cell Leaders (Supervisors) by providing leadership and direction with an emphasis on teambuilding through effective communications.
- Support Continuous Improvement (CORE) efforts.
- Support efforts to achieve cost of poor quality (COPQ) goals.
- Develop key personnel to maintain continued organizational strength and succession.
- Support all employee survey efforts and action planning initiatives.
- Own and execute technical and other assigned sections of the short and long-term strategy for the site’s operations.
- Participate actively in the development of the site’s five-year strategy plan and take lead on initiatives to continue furthering the site’s overall growth.
Qualifications You Must Have
- An Advanced Degree and a minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or MRO environment within operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, or finance; OR a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
Qualifications We Prefer
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or other Financial discipline preferred.
- 10 years of leadership experience managing both hourly and salaried employees in the aviation or aerospace industry.
- Prior experience with P&L, budgeting, and financial reporting to Senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, CORE, Six Sigma, or comparable operational excellence systems.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking, business discernment, innovation, and team building skills.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and ERP/SAP software applications.
Pay Range
The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD.
