Senior Operations Manager, Amazon Air

About the role

The Air Hub Senior Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing inbound, outbound, package sortation, and ramp operations within the Air Hub. They are accountable for ensuring safety, quality, performance, and customer experience across the shift. This role involves supervising staff, setting performance metrics, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage inbound, outbound, package sortation, and ramp operations within the Air Hub
• Ensure overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of the shift
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
• Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals
• Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; resolve problems; and address staffing needs
• Mentor, train, and develop teammates for career progression and learning
• Develop and implement processes required to support hub launch

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with performance metrics and process improvement and Lean techniques
• Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations
• 7+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment

Qualifications

• Proven ability to drive process improvements
• Ability to keep pace with explosive growth while motivating others to meet deadlines

Skills

• Flexibility to work various hours, including overnight, weekends, and holidays
