Job Overview – Senior Operations Associate
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Operations Associate in New York, NY for their client, supporting investment operations, trade operations, fund accounting, and operational risk within a growing investment management environment.
Responsibilities as the Senior Operations Associate
- Support the full trade lifecycle, including trade processing, settlement, reconciliations, corporate actions, and cash management activities.
- Monitor operational processes, identify risks, and strengthen internal controls to support accurate and efficient business operations.
- Partner with accounting and finance teams to support fund accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and valuation-related activities.
- Work closely with investment, treasury, finance, accounting, and external service providers to resolve operational issues and improve workflows.
- Lead or participate in automation initiatives, system enhancements, and operational improvement projects that increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Analyze operational data, monitor key processes, and provide insights that support informed business and investment decisions.
Qualifications for the Senior Operations Associate
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in hedge fund operations, investment operations, or fund operations is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience supporting investment operations, trade settlements, reconciliations, fund accounting, treasury, or operational risk within an investment management environment is required.
- Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills are required, and experience with trading platforms, portfolio accounting systems, data analysis tools, and automation or process improvement initiatives is highly preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to think critically, manage multiple priorities, collaborate across teams, and identify opportunities to improve operational processes are required.
