THOR Solutions is seeking a Senior Operations Analyst to support the US Navy Mine Warfare Readiness and Effectiveness Measuring (MIREM) Program at Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) in San Diego, CA. The MIREM program assesses the readiness and effectiveness of sensors, systems, weapons, and countermeasures employed by individual and groups of platforms to meet specified objectives in tactically and operationally relevant environments.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate warfighting gap technical solutions using MOEs/MOPs across warfare areas and quantifiably prioritize their suitability and feasibility.
- Conduct statistical trend analysis on sensor, systems, weapon, and countermeasure data across warfare areas and ascertain system performance against warfighting requirements.
- Investigate the validity of probabilistic models and algorithms manifesting as capabilities in proposed warfighting gap solutions.
- Ensure the design and execution of M&S studies meet the specified objectives.
- Communicate prioritized suitability of warfighting gap solutions in oral and written formats to representatives of naval commands, engineering labs, and program offices.
- Provide insight during ad hoc workshops and conferences and respond to statistical queries of systems performance.
- Supervise the performance of other analysts and data engineers.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, or similar field.
- Six (6) years of experience leading analysis teams.
- Four (4) years of experience in operational research, operations analysis, applied math, and statistics.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills.
- Experience in the use of analytical software tools such as Matlab, Statistical Analysis Software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Proficient with common productivity software, including the Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Active or interim DoD Secret security clearance required; candidates without an active clearance may still be considered, but work start depends on clearance approval.
Location & Schedule
- Onsite at Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) in San Diego, CA.
- Up to 20% travel anticipated to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
- Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment with periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments.
- May involve repetitive motion, traversing shipboard environments (e.g., confined spaces, ladders, hatches), speaking, or vision requirements.
Pay
The anticipated pay range for this position in San Diego, CA is $90,000 - $100,000/year. Actual compensation will be based on individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience.
