About the role

This position is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical systems. The role combines advanced technical expertise with leadership, safety oversight, and operational reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Operating and maintaining HVAC, boiler, chiller, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment issues
  • Performing preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Monitoring building automation and energy management systems
  • Ensuring compliance with safety codes, environmental regulations, and operational standards
  • Responding to emergencies and equipment failures
  • Maintaining logs, inspections, and maintenance records.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 18 months of steam and chill water plant operation experience
  • Oklahoma City and Norman campuses: High Pressure Boiler License and State of Oklahoma High Pressure Boiler License
  • Tulsa campus: City of Tulsa Unlimited First Class Stationary Engineer License
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire date
