Senior OpenShift Consultant - Top Secret Clearance Required
We’re looking for a Senior Consultant to deliver solutions that solve our clients’ business challenges through hands-on technical implementation and enablement of recommended practices. In this role, you’ll promote the adoption of Red Hat’s solutions using your technical expertise and interpersonal skills. You’ll need a balance of solid technical experience, awareness of open source, a thorough understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify and solve issues at the enterprise level. This position requires on-site work with clients, including travel to customer locations about 30-40 weeks per year throughout North America. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business and hold an Active Top Secret Clearance.
About the role
After joining Red Hat, you will undergo an intensive customized training program on Red Hat technologies and Services solutions. Here’s how your skill set will evolve during your first year:
- In two months: Prepare to join a project team by building production-ready technical solutions integrated with existing enterprise systems, learning consulting skills through enablements designed and taught by Red Hat experts, and gaining exposure through networking and community events.
- Within six months: Support Services on a project as a technical lead, delivering customer projects collaboratively, understanding how customer use cases develop into project plans, and continuing to expand your knowledge and network.
- Within 12 months: Demonstrate technical leadership by successfully implementing complex, large-scale solutions in customer environments and actively engaging in knowledge sharing with internal and external communities of practice.
Responsibilities
- Guide customers in building scalable, optimally managed solutions adaptable to technological improvements using Red Hat technologies.
- Continuously learn, grow, and adapt to new skills and technologies.
- Travel weekly (Monday-Thursday) to client locations.
- Lead technical projects, including collaborating on project timelines and maintaining project and technical documentation.
- Identify stakeholder needs and set expectations regarding project timelines and scope of work.
- Work collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Mentor team members and share knowledge.
- Present to C-level executives at large firms in a strategic advisory role.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret Clearance.
- Experience delivering implementations based on architectural designs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and maintain documentation.
- Experience identifying stakeholder needs and setting project expectations.
- Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science or a technical discipline.
Skills
- Technical certifications such as Security+ and Network+.
- Experience delivering modern cloud platform consulting engagements.
- Linux system administration experience, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or a derivative.
- Experience with source code management tools such as GitLab.
- Experience with or working knowledge of Ansible.
- Experience with enterprise cloud solutions like Platform-as-a-Service.
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
- Basic knowledge of networking principles (TCP, DNS, DHCP, IPs).
- Broad and deep technical experience with virtualization and cloud technologies (e.g., OpenStack, Red Hat Virtualization, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure).
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $130,420.00 - $215,300.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
