About the role

Join a team where your technical expertise has a direct impact on the successful delivery of complex surveying projects. As a Senior Survey Office Technician, you'll serve as a key technical resource, partnering with Project Managers and field crews to transform survey data into high-quality deliverables while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Cook up project requirements in the office & the field
  • Process field data and perform initial CAD work on land survey deliverables
  • Quality control assistance of client specific deliverables
  • Monitor field crew production & quality assurance
  • Train field / office staff in best practices & standards
  • Provide field support for the land survey staff as needed
  • Perform initial QC of field deliverables according to standards & best practices
  • QC checks on-site to verify the quality of work
  • Daily processing of data, including evaluating accuracy and sufficiency, & ensuring compliance to applicable regulations, professional, & industry standards related to boundary calculations, legal descriptions, etc.
  • Perform deed research, deed plotting & map checks
  • Prepare land survey plats and drawings, legal descriptions & alignment drawings
  • Provide technical office support (brief & de-brief) for field crews
  • Perform quality control checks of land survey plats and drawings prepared by others
  • Ensure schedules & productivity objectives for preparation of land survey plats & drawings are met

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center; MicroStation experience is a plus.
  • Experience processing field data from GNSS, total stations, and other survey equipment.
  • Strong understanding of boundary analysis, deed research, legal descriptions, and survey calculations.
  • Ability to review technical deliverables for accuracy and ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience mentoring or training junior staff is preferred.
  • Familiarity with GIS platforms is a plus.
  • Surveyor-in-Training (S.I.T.) certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in surveying and mapping.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
