About the role

Provides specialized oncology nursing care to patients. Verifies staff credentials and ensures compliance with mandatory requirements. Manages daily activities of clinical and non-clinical staff to optimize patient care and safety. Supervises staff, allocates resources, and liaises with other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Manages daily activities of clinical and non-clinical staff to optimize patient care and safety.
  • Supervises staff, allocates resources, and liaises with other departments.
  • Develops and adheres to the annual budget and plans capital projects.
  • Interviews, hires, orients, leads, mentors, and evaluates staff performance.
  • Develops, implements, and enforces evidence-based policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Provides clinical perspective for pharmacological and billing decisions.
  • Anticipates emerging trends in cancer care and evaluates their impact.
  • Ensures continuity of care between inpatient and outpatient oncology services.
  • Keeps abreast of new cancer treatments and develops new programs and research opportunities.
  • Ensures compliance with Commission on Cancer standards, including survivorship care and patient navigation.

Requirements

  • Capable of productively multi-tasking and meeting imposed deadlines
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • 3+ years of management/leadership in a healthcare environment upon hire
  • Oncology experience required

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing [Required]
  • Master's degree in Nursing [Preferred]

Skills

  • Knowledge of oncology nursing practices
  • Ability to manage staff and resources
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with budget management and planning
  • Ability to anticipate and evaluate emerging trends in cancer care
  • Experience with patient navigation and survivorship care

$77,758.69 - $144,624.32
