Job Summary
About the role
The ideal candidate will have experience in Systems Safety Engineering or Nuclear Engineering, with a focus on Nuclear Surety/Safety for weapons systems. Preference is given to candidates with 8+ years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and generate Nuclear Weapons Safety artifacts as part of the systems being developed.
- Ensure compliance of Nuclear Weapons Safety requirements for the products designed.
- Perform system safety analyses of hardware and software, including preparing and/or updating safety assessment reports and risk assessment reports.
- Perform safety analysis techniques such as fault tree analyses, failure mode and hazard analyses, and participate in the Safety process during product development.
- Participate in the system and/or software design processes where Nuclear Weapon Safety is involved.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
- 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
- Agile experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

- Performed system and/or software design where Nuclear Weapon Safety was involved.
