About the Role

Mission Edge is hiring a client-facing senior-level nonprofit accounting professional who thrives on solving complex problems, advising mission-driven leaders, and using professional judgment — not just following checklists.

Our clients are mission-driven organizations doing meaningful work in their communities, and they rely on us not just for accounting accuracy, but for financial clarity, compliance, and strategic guidance. You will serve as a trusted advisor, helping nonprofit leaders understand the financial story behind their programs and funding.

This is a thinking role. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, asks strong questions, and can explain the why behind accounting decisions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary accounting resource for multiple nonprofit clients
• Lead full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes
• Analyze complex nonprofit accounting situations and recommend solutions
• Guide clients on fund restrictions, allocations, and grant reporting
• Communicate directly with executive directors and boards

Requirements

• 7–10 years of accounting experience with strong nonprofit exposure
• Deep understanding accrual accounting, GAAP, and grant compliance
• QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel skills
• Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills

Pay

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 depending on experience
