System Architecture Design
Implement and maintain the OpenText Network Operations Management (NOM) system architecture, focusing on the Operations Bridge for the Transformation and Integration Cloud (OPTIC) Data Lake. Ensure scalability, resilience, and security for enterprise network management, performance monitoring, and compliance reporting.
Security & Compliance
Provide SME support and guidance to junior administrators and operators managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls within NOM to ensure data security and compliance.
Administration & Maintenance
- Plan, install, configure, secure, upgrade, and patch the OPTIC Data Lake (DL) in containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Conduct similar duties for the Juniper Routing Director (formerly Paragon), which runs Kubernetes with a Linux base OS.
- Develop and maintain API integrations using REST APIs and connectors to connect both platforms with other enterprise systems and applications.
Performance & Optimization
- Monitor and optimize the performance and stability of the OpenText NOM and OPTIC DL systems, proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
- Configure and manage data ingestion into the OPTIC Data Lake, ensuring seamless integration of topology, events, and metrics from various sources.
Data Management & Reporting
- Administer the OPTIC DL, including data ingestion, storage, backup, and restore processes, and manage Stakeholder Dashboards and reports for capacity planning and trend analysis.
Troubleshooting & Support
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to installation, configuration, performance, and integrations, working with vendor support when necessary.
Documentation & Training
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation according to standards.
Automation
- Automate routine operational processes using scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible, PowerShell) to increase efficiency and reduce manual workload.
Qualifications
- Doctorate and 8 years of experience, Master’s and 10 years, Bachelor’s and 12 years, Associate’s and 14 years, or HS diploma and 16 years of experience.
- Compliant with DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
- Deep expertise in container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes in Linux environments.
- Operating Systems Proficiency in Linux (RHEL) with experience administering tools in virtualized or containerized environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, solid communication skills, and capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge and familiarity of database management systems like PostgreSQL or Vertica.
- Networking Fundamentals Knowledge of network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, VPN, VLAN, DNS, DHCP) and experience with network monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with scripting languages for automation, such as Perl, Ruby, or Python.
