Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot enterprise Cisco network infrastructure, including switches, routers, VLANs, routing, ACLs, VPNs, and wireless technologies.
  • Troubleshoot Layer 2 through Layer 7 connectivity, routing, DNS, firewall, performance, and application communication issues.
  • Support secure connectivity between on-premises infrastructure, AWS GovCloud, government partners, customers, and external systems.
  • Analyze network traffic using packet captures, Wireshark, PowerShell, Netstat, and network monitoring tools.
  • Maintain network configurations, diagrams, documentation, and operational procedures for highly available, mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, IIS, certificates/PKI, TLS, Kerberos, authentication, permissions, and Windows services.
  • Perform server builds, configuration, patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and lifecycle management.
  • Administer and support Microsoft Hyper-V clustered and virtualized server infrastructure.
  • Use PowerShell for administration, troubleshooting, automation, system analysis, and compliance evidence collection.
  • Administer and troubleshoot AWS GovCloud (US) infrastructure, including EC2, VPCs, subnets, route tables, Security Groups, NACLs, VPC endpoints, Route 53, load balancers, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Security Hub, and Systems Manager.
  • Support and troubleshoot hybrid connectivity between AWS GovCloud, on-premises infrastructure, and external systems.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to deploy and maintain environments based on technical requirements from development teams, government partners, and customers.
  • Support infrastructure operating under federal cybersecurity and compliance requirements, including NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs, continuous monitoring, and Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
  • Perform vulnerability analysis, remediation, validation, security hardening, and configuration management.
  • Evaluate vulnerability findings for technical applicability and implement appropriate remediation.
  • Support security assessments, audits, incident response, and compliance activities, including development of technical documentation and supporting evidence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in network engineering, systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or a comparable technical role.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise networking and strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing, switching, ACLs, NAT, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, wireless networking, and network troubleshooting.
  • Strong hands-on Windows Server Systems Administration experience, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Kerberos, certificates/PKI, TLS, and Windows security.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Hyper-V clustered environments or comparable enterprise virtualization technologies.
  • Strong PowerShell administration, automation, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands-on AWS experience, preferably AWS GovCloud, with knowledge of VPC networking, cloud security, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
  • Experience with vulnerability remediation, patching, system hardening, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex issues spanning networks, servers, cloud infrastructure, security controls, and applications.
  • Ability to collaborate directly with government agencies, customers, development teams, vendors, and external partners to gather technical requirements and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • Strong technical documentation and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, install, and manipulate physical IT and network equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for required local travel.

Pay

$100,000-120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This position will be based at Ashburn/Hybrid.
