Senior Network Engineer with Poly

Location: On-Site at Customer Location (Annapolis Junction, MD). Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance required.

About the role

BigBear.ai is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support mission-critical operations for government customers. In this role, you’ll work onsite ensuring optimized network performance, security, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize the customer’s Risk Management Framework and related networks to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Patch, upgrade, and migrate Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls to maintain network integrity and performance.
• Participate in agile activities, including release planning, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to incorporate lessons learned into engineering processes.
• Collaborate with developers throughout the application development lifecycle to build features that deliver value to customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience, including a minimum of 3 years as a Network Engineer (within the last 3 years).
• Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
• Proficiency with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Advanced expertise in Linux and Windows environments, with extensive system administration skills to manage complex network infrastructures.
• CCNA or CCNP certification (required).
• Security+ certification (required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience patching and upgrading Linux servers and networking resources.
• Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible or Salt scripts.
• Experience with AWS cloud environments and virtual machines (VMs).
