About the Role
The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and maintaining enterprise network systems, including LAN, WAN, wireless networks, and internet connectivity. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of the organization’s network infrastructure across a multi-site environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations
- Provide ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and operational support for network systems
- Serve as a primary escalation point for network-related issues and tickets
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain connectivity across remote offices and systems
- Monitor network performance and respond proactively to alerts and incidents
- Configure and maintain firewalls, access control lists (ACLs), and IDS/IPS systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot enterprise wireless networks, including 802.1X and RADIUS authentication
- Support light Windows and Linux server troubleshooting
- Develop and maintain QoS (Quality of Service) policies
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed
- Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and procedures
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and help desk staff
Requirements
- 7–10 years of experience supporting enterprise network environments
- CCNA required; CCNP preferred
- Strong experience with network troubleshooting and performance optimization
- Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and Wireshark
- Knowledge of network security standards (PCI, HIPAA, FIPS preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud environments (Azure preferred)
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto or other firewall platforms
- Experience with multicast routing
