Senior Network Engineer

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and support of a complex enterprise network environment, including LAN/WAN, WLAN, data center, security, and SD-WAN technologies. This role ensures network performance, reliability, and scalability while partnering with leadership to develop and deliver effective infrastructure solutions aligned to business needs and industry best practices. Responsibilities

• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN).
• Monitor network performance and integrity.
• Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness.
• Confer with network users about solving existing system problems.
• Maintain complete technical documentation.
• Suggest improvements to network/server performance, capacity, and scalability.
• Create and implement network security measures.
• Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, and controllers.
• Create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
• Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures.
• Replace faulty hardware components when required.
• Monitor network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
• Coordinate computer network access and use.
• Perform all core duties of a systems administrator, including but not limited to, ensuring proper network system functionality by maintaining and modifying operating systems, components, and upgrading and patching operating systems and application software.
• Maintain and administer network user accounts and network security systems.
• Strictly adhere to and enforce system security policies and standards.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or technical institute degree/certificate or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years’ experience in LAN/WAN/WLAN and network security.
• 4+ years’ experience in Fortinet Security Fabric (switching, routing, firewall, and wireless).
• Expert knowledge of the following technologies: routing, switching, MPLS, VPN, and SD-WAN.
• Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).

Schedule

This is a hybrid role based out of our Columbus, IN office.

Pay

Salary: $106,060 - $135,975 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
