Senior Network Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer with 12+ years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, securing, and supporting large-scale enterprise network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in routing, switching, network security, cloud networking, data center technologies, wireless infrastructure, and network automation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network infrastructure.
  • Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
  • Implement high-availability solutions using HSRP, VRRP, VPC, MLAG, and clustering technologies.
  • Deploy and manage SD-WAN solutions for branch connectivity.
  • Monitor network health, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Perform root cause analysis for network outages and implement preventive solutions.
  • Configure routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and static routing.
  • Implement network segmentation using VLANs, VXLAN, MPLS, and VRFs.
  • Configure enterprise wireless solutions using Cisco Wireless Controllers and Cisco Meraki.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity teams to implement network security best practices.
  • Support cloud connectivity with AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud networking.
  • Manage DNS, DHCP, IPAM, NAT, QoS, multicast, and IPv6 environments.
  • Create network diagrams, SOPs, architecture documentation, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Develop automation scripts for network provisioning and configuration management.
  • Participate in on-call production support and major incident resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in enterprise IT environments.
  • Strong experience with enterprise LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, and data center networking.
  • Expertise in Cisco, Arista, Juniper, or Palo Alto networking technologies.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical production networks in large organizations.
  • Experience working in Agile and ITIL environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • One or more of the following certifications: CCNP Enterprise, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet NSE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Cisco DevNet Professional.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cisco ACI.
  • Experience with VMware NSX.
  • Experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Knowledge of SASE and Secure Access Service Edge.
  • Experience supporting large-scale cloud migrations.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes networking and container platforms.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOX, or NIST.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to lead infrastructure initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in enterprise environments.
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
