Senior Network Engineer

About the role

Peak Performers has partnered with a Texas State Agency to assist in their search for a hybrid Senior Network Engineer in Austin, Tx. In this position, you will perform advanced network administration for the agency’s data and voice network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, monitor, and integrate network components, hardware, and software.
• Evaluate network enhancements and oversee the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of network-related equipment.
• Provide Tier III support for network-related service requests and incidents.
• Troubleshoot network issues and implement solutions with a strong focus on security.
• Work with limited or minimal supervision while exercising independent judgment.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience administering enterprise networks across multiple remote locations.
• 3 years of experience implementing and maintaining site-to-site/IPSEC tunneling and configuring network monitoring tools.
• 3 years of experience administering SAN architecture networks, including SAN switches, routers, bridges, and protocols such as iSCSI, FCoE, AoE, and FCP.
• 2 years of experience administering cloud networking.
• 1 year of experience administering networks in virtualized environments.
• 1 year of experience managing Aruba network devices.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years of experience coordinating or using vendor-provided support.
• 3 years of experience working in fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
• 1 year of experience with Aruba ClearPass and Central.

Pay

Rate: $63.00/hour W2 Contract

Schedule

Hybrid; 5 month contract with opportunity for extension
