About the Role
This opportunity is with a major global manufacturer of materials science and technology products, supporting enterprise network infrastructure across a large, distributed organization with sites including Charlotte, NC and Corning, NY. This role sits within the IT network engineering team, designing and optimizing the routing, switching, and wireless systems that connect global operations, with growing emphasis on infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced network solutions for complex routing and switching environments deployed with Infrastructure as Code
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise grade routing protocols and switching technologies
- Architect and manage wireless infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance
- Develop and maintain automation workflows using tools such as Ansible and Terraform
- Leverage APIs to enhance network scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency
- Partner with cross functional teams to align network strategies with business goals
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network designs, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Assess emerging technologies, tools, and vendors to drive innovation in network performance and security
- Stay current with industry certifications and trends to support technical leadership
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after hours network support
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
- 8+ years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer
- Advanced proficiency in routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF, and switching technologies
- Advanced skills in network automation using scripting languages and RESTful APIs
- Strong understanding of enterprise network technologies including LAN and SD-WAN, and experience designing and managing wireless networks
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNP, Arista ACE L5, or equivalent certification
- Arista certifications and MIST qualifications
- Hands on experience with Arista platforms, including Arista CloudVision, in data center and campus environments
- Hands on experience with MIST wireless solutions, including design, deployment, and performance optimization
- Experience with cloud networking platforms and hybrid cloud environments
- Financial acumen supporting budgeting, cost analysis, and vendor negotiations
- Manufacturing industry experience

Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm

Pay
The pay rate for this position is up to $67.00/hr. Final pay is based on a variety of factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
Location
Hybrid, 1 day/week onsite; candidates preferably within 1 hour of Charlotte, NC or Corning, NY.
Interview Process
- Two rounds, 45 minute video interviews
- First round with direct manager and Architect
- Second round onsite in Charlotte, NC with the Director
- A third round is possible if needed for candidate consideration
