Key Accountabilities
- Act as a Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) across one or more network domains including LAN, WAN, Wireless, Security, SD-WAN, VoIP, and Data Center networking
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for complex network solutions, ensuring designs are secure, resilient, scalable, and aligned with DP World standards and business requirements
- Own technical decision-making, including design choices, risk assessment, and solution quality, within the scope of assigned initiatives
- Partner with Network Architects to define, implement, and enforce global network standards, best practices, and reference architectures
- Mentor and guide Network Engineers through design reviews, configuration validation, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing
Project Delivery & Engineering Excellence
- Lead and deliver complex, high-impact network initiatives, including large site launches, major refreshes, migrations, and modernization programs
- Govern network solutions across the full lifecycle: architecture, design, proof of concept, procurement, implementation, testing, and operational handover
- Lead proof-of-concepts and technical evaluations of new technologies, vendors, and solutions to support continuous improvement and future-state network strategy
- Achieve accurate and high-quality network documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks
Operations, Support & Governance
- Act as a Level 3/4 escalation point for complex incidents and service degradations, performing deep root cause analysis and driving permanent corrective actions
- Perform and oversee network patching, maintenance, and configuration changes in accordance with approved change management and control processes
- Participate in and influence Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities, presenting changes, articulating risk, and defending technical decisions when required
- Achieve compliance with DP World security, incident, change, and problem management frameworks
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Drive continuous improvement in network automation, monitoring, observability, and operational efficiency
- Manage and contribute to vendor relationships, including procurement support, lifecycle management, and contract evaluations
- Collaborate closely with Security, Cloud, Infrastructure, Applications, and regional IT teams to ensure integrated and customer-focused outcomes
Qualifications, Experience And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 7–10+ years of enterprise network engineering experience in large, distributed environments
- Proven experience influencing technical direction and mentoring peers
- Expert-level experience with Cisco routing, switching, and wireless
- Strong experience with SD-WAN, firewalls, and network security architecture
- Proven experience designing and supporting data centers and large campus networks
- Deep understanding of routing protocols, network segmentation, and high availability design
- Extensive experience with change management and enterprise ITIL processes
- CCNA Certified and CCNP or equivalent professional-level certification required
- PREFERRED: CCIE or equivalent expert-level certification strongly preferred
- Professional-level firewall certifications (Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point) strongly preferred, with demonstrated hands-on design and policy governance experience
- Demonstrated experience designing or implementing network automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions (e.g., Python, Ansible, APIs), with a focus on scalability and operational efficiency
- Experience designing and supporting hybrid enterprise and cloud network connectivity, including secure integration with public cloud platforms
