Senior Network Administrator
This role is 100% on-site at the customer location at Fort Meade, MD, supporting the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS).
About the role
The Senior Network Administrator will work independently to configure, maintain, and secure network assets, including switches, load balancers, routers, and firewalls. This position involves routine maintenance, troubleshooting, updates, and implementation of security measures on Cisco, Juniper, and Dell network devices.
Responsibilities
- Perform configuration of network assets such as switches, load balancers, routers, and firewalls.
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, updates, and implement security measures on network devices.
- Create and maintain accurate and timely system documentation, configuration management, and change management efforts.
- Complete checklists and manage devices to mitigate cyber security controls and measures as required.
- Assist in the implementation of global projects for network architecture upgrades by providing technical insight, projected actions, timelines, and resource availability.
- Implement recurring security requirements on network devices.
- Coordinate troubleshooting efforts with external partners where required.
- Utilize moderate system administration skills in both Linux and Windows environments to navigate current systems while managing network assets.
- Provide architectural and topology recommendations to improve efficiencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline with 12+ years of overall related experience, or additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret with SCI.
- At least 3 years of Linux and/or Windows familiarity.
- Currently possess a DoD 8140 certification supporting Network Operations Specialist (e.g., SEC+, CEH, etc.).
- Currently possess CCNA/CCNP or equivalent OR the ability to obtain the certification within 90 days of start date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Integration of Network Management (NM) and Element Management (EM) systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems.
- Experience with a ticketing system such as BMC, Service Now, ITSM, or Remedy.
- ITIL v3 Foundation certification.
- Experience working with virtual environments.
Pay
Pay Range: $116,350.00 - $210,325.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
