Join a mission-critical team supporting and enhancing enterprise event management infrastructure in a fast-paced environment. This role involves active migrations, integrations, and platform optimization across a large-scale IT ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and support IBM Netcool/Omnibus environments for enterprise event management
- Build and maintain ObjectServer setups, including triggers, automation, correlation, and enrichment logic
- Monitor platform health and performance, and apply tuning improvements to increase reliability and efficiency
- Manage and maintain probes and gateway configurations for integration with multiple monitoring tools
- Administer Linux-based systems hosting Netcool components, including routine support and troubleshooting
- Work with Oracle backend databases for data handling, integrations, and reporting needs
- Support high availability, disaster recovery, patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities with minimal disruption
- Develop integrations with third-party monitoring and IT service management tools using APIs, webhooks, and scripting
- Create automation workflows to improve event handling and incident response
- Document procedures, support runbooks, and maintain clear technical standards and change practices
- Collaborate with observability and operations teams to onboard new monitoring sources and improve event visibility
Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM Netcool/Omnibus, including ObjectServer, probes, and gateways
- Solid understanding of Netcool architecture, including OMNIbus, Impact, WebGUI/Dash, and Message Bus
- Linux administration experience, preferably in RHEL environments
- Working knowledge of Oracle databases, SQL, and basic DBA support tasks
- Proficiency in scripting with Bash, Python, or Perl
- Experience with event correlation, alert management, and reducing noise in monitoring environments
- Familiarity with SNMP, Syslog, HTTPS, and REST APIs
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production support environment
- Comfort working in an environment that may include on-call support and occasional after-hours maintenance
Preferred Skills
- Experience integrating Dynatrace with Netcool through webhooks or APIs
- Background in ServiceNow and bidirectional event or incident integrations
- Experience with IBM Netcool Impact or OMNIbus Process Control scripting
- Exposure to other observability or enterprise operations tools such as Splunk or Control-M
- Knowledge of IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps
- ITIL Foundation certification or similar process knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- IBM certifications related to Netcool or Tivoli products
Pay
The pay range for this role is $62 - $100 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
