About the role

Arcadis is seeking a mid-level to Senior NEPA Specialist for our Mobility team in Nashville, Chattanooga, or Knoxville, TN. This is a unique opportunity to lead and manage the delivery of NEPA documents for challenging Design-Bid-Build projects as well as the fast-paced schedules for Design-Build delivery. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multi-firm, multi-task, interdisciplinary team task orders and contracts for infrastructure planning studies.
  • Prepare NEPA documents for minor programmatic projects to complex Categorical Exclusions and less complex Environmental Assessments.
  • Develop project scopes and budgets, interface with and maintain clients, mentor and develop junior staff, and develop project plans and schedules.
  • Adhere to Arcadis' practices including quality and safety standards.
  • Handle interpersonal and client-facing responsibilities, including excellent, clear, and concise oral and written communication, and demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, resources, and presentations.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years’ experience in serving as a seller-doer with Departments of Transportation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, policy, a biological or physical science, or economics.
  • Proven success in delivering minor to complex environmental projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Fluency with MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and related project planning or niche discipline used in NEPA analysis (desired).
  • Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations (desired).
  • Registration as certified planner (AICP) with the American Institute of Certified Planners or registration as a Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) with the Association of Board Certified Environmental Professionals (desired).
  • Proficiency with ProjectWise, Primavera, Prezi, MS Access, and other software programs that provide value within the project management and planning contract contexts (desired).
  • Related experience for other departments of transportation in the South (desired).

Pay

The salary range for this position is $95,500 - $135,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
