Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association (“MSPBNA”), as part of Wealth Management, offers banking and credit products and services, including securities-based lending, mortgage loans and home equity lines of credit primarily to Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s high net worth clients. MSPBNA Home Loans is seeking a Sr. Underwriter who is an experienced mortgage professional.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and analyze multifaceted mortgage loans for high net-worth clients within delegated credit authority and in accordance with MSPBNA credit policy, lending standards and risk appetite.
  • Proactively and effectively manage and maintain a pipeline of complex transactions.
  • Provide guidance related to complex income scenarios to partners and junior team members
  • Perform complicated income, business financial statements and tax returns analysis.
  • Provide guidance as related to complex income scenarios and assist in identifying or recommending alternative solutions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience credit analysis and underwriting for high net-worth individuals.
  • Expert level knowledge of credit risk and underwriting non-conforming, jumbo loans including property appraisals, title reports and entity documents.
  • Private bank lending, business relationship management or commercial credit analysis experience including providing business financing preferred.
  • Experience in pipeline management preferred.
  • Complex self-employed income analysis and cash flow expertise
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills and ability to collaborate with partner teams and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience, advance degree a plus.
