About the role
Provide excellent customer service and promote Bank products and services while maintaining good relationships with current clients, past clients, and real estate professionals. Train and assist new or existing Mortgage Loan Originators.
Responsibilities
- Generate loans from outside sales calls including real estate companies, builders, relocation companies, and the public.
- Meet with prospective borrowers, review and analyze credit and financial information, determine borrower financing objectives, and present appropriate products, programs, and disclosures as required.
- Provide training and guidance to newly-hired mortgage loan staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- NMLS or the ability to obtain NMLS registration
- Financial organizational skills and understanding of financial information
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in mortgage lending functions
- Customer service experience
- Sales experience preferably in the mortgage industry
Qualifications
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to generate referral business and leads
- Extensive knowledge of FHA, FNMA, FHLMC, VA, and Rural Development guidelines
- Extensive knowledge of RESPA and MDIA compliance
- Self-motivated, organized, and skilled at prioritizing tasks

Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Work environment and physical demands
Office environment within a climate-controlled facility that can be high-traffic during peak service times. Frequent use of telephone, computer, and other office equipment. Typically seated at a personal desk for most of the day. Work with indirect supervision, effectively as part of a team and independently. Capable of working harmoniously with diverse personalities of co-workers, staff, and customers. Regular and reliable attendance required; ability to work varying hours.
