Senior Mobile Engineer - Grant Growth Team
About the role
Kikoff is a profitable, pre-IPO fintech company focused on empowering individuals to achieve financial security. We've seen significant growth in 2025 and have developed a suite of products including credit building, liquidity access, and savings solutions. Our mission is to help millions of people manage their finances better.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale a top finance app on iOS and Android that directly impacts the financial lives of hundreds of thousands of users.
- Own end-to-end feature development across the user lifecycle, from identity verification to account management.
- Integrate with financial service providers like Plaid, Stripe, and Tabapay, ensuring robust mobile interfaces for sensitive financial data.
- Develop reusable components and design system elements to accelerate experimentation and innovation on our multi-brand mobile platform (Grant, Kikoff, Banking).
- Enhance mobile platform foundations, including improving build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and developer velocity for a growing team.
- Work closely with product, data science, and operations teams to ship features that improve customer financial wellbeing while maintaining high standards of reliability, security, and compliance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of mobile development experience with a proven track record of building and scaling production apps on iOS and/or Android.
- Strong mobile architecture skills, including a deep understanding of state management patterns, app architecture (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture), and maintaining maintainable codebases at scale.
- Production app ownership, with experience handling crashes, edge cases, and maintaining features through multiple releases.
- A solid foundation in iOS (Swift/UIKit/SwiftUI) and/or Android (Kotlin/Java/Jetpack Compose) development.
- A testing mindset, comfortable writing unit, integration, and UI tests to ensure quality from the start.
- API integration experience, skilled at working with REST APIs, handling async operations, error states, and building resilient network layers.
- Familiarity with Flutter/Dart, or strong willingness to learn, given our codebase is Flutter-based.
- Fintech experience, such as background with payment systems, banking APIs (Plaid, Stripe), identity verification (Sentilink, Persona), or financial services infrastructure.
- Technical leadership, able to own complex mobile initiatives end-to-end, from architecture design through implementation, testing, and rollout.
- Mentorship, helping to level up the team through code reviews, design docs, technical guidance, and establishing mobile best practices.
- An impact focus, balancing technical excellence with pragmatic delivery - knowing when to build for scale versus shipping fast and learning.
- Cross-functional collaboration, partnering effectively with backend engineers, product, and designers to deliver seamless end-to-end experiences.
- Operational excellence, taking ownership of the reliability and performance of features you build, monitoring production issues, and iterating quickly.
