About the role
The Boeing Defense Air Dominance Division Systems Safety & Mission Assurance organization is seeking a Mission Assurance Engineer to support our F-15 Fighter programs in Berkeley or Hazelwood, MO. The ideal candidate will have experience in tactical aircraft design and strong critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities
- Leads defining and validating safety, mission success, and airworthiness; provides support incorporating into designs, operations, and procedures.
- Creates and maintains aerospace safety and mission assurance tools and processes.
- Documents safety analysis, hazard mitigation, validation and verification activities in compliance with relevant customer and regulatory safety standards.
- Establishes global safety advocacy strategies, training, tools, and methods.
- Executing system and airplane level analyses (e.g., Aircraft or System Functional Hazard Assessment (AFHA/SFHA), Common Resource Analysis, Multi-Functional Fault Tree Analysis (MFTA), Functional Design Assurance Level (FDAL), Common Mode Assessment (CMA), Particular Risk Analysis (PRA), and Zonal Safety Analysis (ZSA)).
- Provides safety design and analysis expertise to program stakeholders and leadership.
- Develops certification strategies for systems and airplane level safety issues.
- Representing BSG-C in trade studies, coordination of safety analyses, and functional integration assessments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in airplane systems design and/or analysis (e.g., flight controls, hydraulics, avionics, fuels, etc.) and/or systems integration.
- Experience working with safety analyses such as Risk Assessments, Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Fault-tree Analysis (FTA), etc.
- Experience with the design and technical development of hardware, firmware or software for Military, Space, or Commercial airplane systems.
