Senior Mining Consultant
About the role
We are currently seeking a Senior Mining Consultant with subject matter expertise in underground material handling for potash / polyhalite to support a strategic global project.
Responsibilities
- Subject matter expert in underground material handling for potash / polyhalite and ability to provide technical guidance to a team of global engineers and designers.
- Provide technical guidance for large projects of high complexity.
- Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers all mining engineered systems.
- Participates in project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Participates in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
- Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
- Leads and provides guidance in the development of new standards and specifications for the mining group.
- Reviews project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects.
- Reviews proposals for mining projects.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of industry standards.
- Techincal knowledge in multiple underground and surface mining methods.
- Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of projects.
- Checks the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule.
- Participates and collaborates in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
- Expertise in mine health and safety regulations.
- Strong presentation and interview skills.
- Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Assists in business development of current and new clients.
- Assists in the evaluation and hiring of new team members.
- Willing to mentor and teach your expertise to our mining team.
Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
- 20+ years of relevant experience.
- Preferrably with a strong operational background in career.

$141,500.00 - $212,200.00 Annually
