Senior Mining Consultant

About the role

We are currently seeking a Senior Mining Consultant to join the mining team in any of our West or South West office locations. Your opportunity includes providing technical guidance for large projects of high complexity, evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering all mining engineered systems, participating in project coordination meetings, and leading and providing guidance in the development of new standards and specifications for the mining group.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance for large projects of high complexity.
• Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers all mining engineered systems.
• Participates in project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Participates in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
• Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
• Leads and provides guidance in the development of new standards and specifications for the mining group.
• Reviews project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects.
• Reviews proposals for mining projects.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of industry standards.
• Tech knowledge in multiple underground and surface mining methods.
• Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of projects.
• Checks the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule.
• Participates and collaborates in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
• Expertise in mine health and safety regulations.
• Strong presentation and interview skills.
• Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Assists in business development of current and new clients.
• Assists in the evaluation and hiring of new team members.
• Willing to mentor and teach your expertise to our mining team.

Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
• 20+ years of relevant experience.
• Preferrably with a strong operational background in career.
