Senior Metrology Engineer

About the role

Perform maintenance, calibration, and/or qualification of routine and advanced laboratory instrumentation in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements. Maintain compliance of quality systems and laboratory instrumentation. Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of laboratory instrumentation. Implement/validate routine instrumentation and assist with research/implementation/validation of advanced instrumentation. Provide oversight, guidance, and training to technical personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain routine instruments in a validated state at all times.
  • Perform assessment, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Ensure completion of preventative maintenance, routine testing, and assigned validation testing.
  • Ensure all activities are completed on time, accurately documented, and in compliance with existing quality systems.
  • Ensure that the quality policy program is understood, implemented, and maintained at all times.
  • Organize schedule to prioritize and complete higher priority projects and tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ensure completion of all assigned tasks according to company and department stated turnaround times (TATs).
  • Actively participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Foster teamwork internally and with technical groups to increase overall quality.
  • Provide guidance and coaching within a team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in physical science, engineering, or information technology.
  • 8 years of GxP, laboratory, and/or instrument maintenance and repair experience.
  • A combination of college and related technical experience will be considered (e.g., 12+ years of experience).
  • Experience performing and documenting instrument troubleshooting, non-routine events, and/or validations.
  • Experience writing technical documents (e.g., procedures, investigations).
  • Experience developing instrument validation deliverables (e.g., protocols, test scripts) within a GXP environment.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ISO 17025 Calibration and Measurement of Uncertainty experience.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed.
