Senior Metallurgist

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Senior Metallurgist to join our Minerals team in Tucson, AZ. Intertek Minerals provides geochemical assay and testing services, minerals inspection, and trade services to support the global minerals and mining supply chain from exploration to final product shipment.

About the role

The Senior Metallurgist will work on Mineral Processing projects, focusing on Copper SXEW, Heap Leach, and base metal flotation. This role is well-suited for candidates with experience in operations and metallurgical testing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage metallurgical resources (equipment and technicians) to ensure metallurgical tests are performed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
• Assist with set-up and layout of the facility.
• Interpret metallurgical test work results.
• Liaise with clients to ensure their objectives are met.
• Prepare quotations and proposals based on client needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy, or Chemical Engineering.
• Metallurgical testing experience in a laboratory setting.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• 7 years of experience in Flotation and Leaching.

Preferred Qualifications

• PE registration.
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience in mineral processing, with preference for gold or copper processing.
