Primary Responsibilities
- Aid in identifying, evaluating, and executing mergers and acquisitions opportunities, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, early-stage investments, and partnerships.
- Lead the execution of M&A transactions throughout their lifecycle, from project planning to final transaction agreements.
- Collaborate with senior business managers to evaluate potential M&A opportunities, develop strategic rationale, and design bespoke transaction structures aligned with the company’s long-term goals.
- Coordinate and manage due diligence processes with external advisors and cross-functional teams, ensuring thorough financial analysis including financial and valuation models such as DCF, precedent transactions, and comparable company analysis.
- Create and present comprehensive financial and strategic analyses to executive leadership and boards of directors, summarizing key insights and recommendations.
- Assist with post-merger integration planning and monitor business performance post-transaction completion.
- Support the M&A team in establishing best practices, including the creation of internal databases, preparation of internal reports, and presentations to senior management, and recruitment efforts including summer internships.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
- An MBA or relevant business and finance experience is preferred.
- 7-10+ years of experience with M&A transactions.
- Prior experience leading M&A deal processes and working cross-functionally with various business teams or clients.
- Prior experience leading or supporting execution of M&A transactions in investment banking, consulting, or corporate development roles is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, decision support, and influence/negotiation skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership experience (10+ years) with strong global networking and teamwork skills.
- Excellent computer skills in software such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Outstanding communication skills required.
