Responsibilities
- Lead coordination and integration of healthcare infrastructure planning efforts across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety, architectural, and operational teams.
- Serve as the owner’s representative and technical advisor during early planning, pre-design, and schematic design phases.
- Facilitate development of Basis of Design (BOD), Owner Project Requirements (OPR), project scopes, phasing plans, and infrastructure strategies.
- Capture and translate technical findings into phased, constructible, and operationally aligned capital improvement projects.
- Support evaluation of infrastructure alternatives, including system replacement strategies, electrification efforts, redundancy planning, and utility upgrades.
- Lead stakeholder coordination meetings, technical workshops, and executive planning sessions with facilities, clinical staff, engineers, and consultants.
- Develop and maintain integrated master schedules using Primavera P6, including milestone tracking, phasing, sequencing, and baseline schedule management.
- Coordinate with cost estimators and managers, schedulers, and project controls teams to align scope, schedule, and budget assumptions.
- Provide constructability and operational continuity input related to shutdown planning, temporary systems, infection control, equipment access, and occupied healthcare environments.
- Identify project risks, infrastructure constraints, and coordination conflicts, and support mitigation and implementation strategies.
- Manage project documentation, including decision logs, risk registers, coordination reports, meeting minutes, and progress reporting.
- Provide high level ROM cost feedback for quick key stakeholder decision making.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in healthcare infrastructure, construction management, MEPF design and coordination, or capital program delivery.
- Prior HCAI / OSHPD healthcare project experience is required.
- Strong experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire, life safety, and central utility infrastructure systems.
- Experience supporting occupied healthcare renovation, infrastructure replacement, and phased implementation projects.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multi-discipline engineering and consultant teams.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling and project controls processes is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel user and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Periodic business-related travel in support of project and client needs required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field preferred, but not required.
- Professional Engineering licensure in California is preferred but not required.
