Senior Mental Health Counselor - Breakthrough

Schedule

Full time 40 hours/week on weekdays primarily day shift with some evening coverage.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling, education, and case management to clients in structured Breakthrough programs as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Assume leadership and mentoring duties to support the milieu treatment program and promote growth and quality for clients and caregivers.
• Assist leadership in developing and maintaining program processes and group curriculum.
• Demonstrate advanced clinical skills, serve as a resource for other clinicians, and exemplify Providence Core Values.

About the Breakthrough Program

The Providence Breakthrough program is an intensive outpatient and outpatient substance use treatment program that provides individual, group, and relational therapy services.

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a health‑related field.
• Upon hire: Alaska Masters Social Worker License OR Alaska Clinical Social Worker License OR Alaska Psychologist License OR Alaska Marriage and Family Therapist License OR Alaska Professional Counselor License.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS (American Heart Association).
• 5 years of clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Substance abuse counseling experience.
• Group therapy experience.
• Crisis and assessment experience.

Pay

Base pay range: $40.11 – $62.27 per hour. Additional compensation may be available (shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, bonuses).

Anchorage, AK – On‑site at Providence Regional Building, 3760 Piper St.
