Major Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to therapists and those seeking licensure.
- Implement direct services using an integrated model of treatment implementation – designed to promote generalization to school, work, community, and home settings.
- Provide collaborative consultation and training to the student team, using modeling as well as instruction regarding students’ needs and trauma informed care.
- Work in an interdisciplinary team to develop comprehensive treatments plans aimed at improving student quality of life; specifically engagement in functional skill development, vocational skills, and community inclusion.
- Document clinical notes, complete progress reports, IEP/treatment plan information, and as appropriate evaluations as required and requested by the team.
- Participate in any team meetings pertaining to assigned individuals or program planning, as directed.
- Engage in the de-escalation of individuals.
- Able to attend training as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions
- Physical abilities: MHC II must have the physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de-escalate individuals who have limited cognition and complex needs as well as the ability to deescalate and restrain individuals using Nonviolent Crisis Intervention as certified through CPI.
- Intellectual skills: MHC II must have sufficient powers of intellect to acquire, assimilate, integrate, and apply information. S/he must have intellectual ability to solve problems and help staff and students do the same. S/he must possess the ability of critical thinking and writing.
- Communication: MHC II must have professional-level use the English language to communicate effectively with students, staff, peers, and other health care professionals in both oral and written form.
- Sensory abilities: MHC II must have sufficient use of the sense of vision, hearing, and touch to observe effectively in the classroom, residences, and clinical settings. SLP Manager must possess the ability to observe both close at hand and at a distance.
- Professional abilities: Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job, including inclement weather situations. MHC II must demonstrate evidence of mature judgment, good interpersonal skills, a desire to enrich individuals' lives and a willingness to learn from skilled professionals.
Requirements
- Professional licensure is required, i.e. LICSW or LMHCA minimum of a Master’s degree in clinical discipline.
- At least three years supervisory experience.
- Access to reliable transportation to multiple sites in Massachusetts.
- Experience with multiply handicapped, limited language individuals preferred.
- Experience with trauma informed care is preferred.
- Experience with group and individual therapy.
- Experience with play therapy or movement therapies is preferred.
- Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements.
