HybridInformation TechnologyFull-time
We are looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our Memory Subsystem Team. This role focuses on embedded firmware development for NVIDIA's SoC memory subsystem, spanning architecture, pre-silicon validation, and production silicon.
Responsibilities
- Work on hardware/software co-development, pairing embedded software with ASIC design from architecture through deployment in silicon.
- Implement C/C++ embedded firmware for memory subsystem initialization, DRAM training, low-power states, RAS, and telemetry functions.
- Develop C models for hardware IP blocks to validate firmware in pre-silicon environments.
- Support silicon bring-up and lab validation, including board bring-up, log triage, and regression testing.
- Profile and refactor existing embedded firmware to improve code coverage and performance KPIs.
- Apply expertise in software, digital/analog systems, computer architecture, and debugging to solve complex problems.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of embedded firmware development (internship and new-grad experience may count toward the minimum).
- Understanding of core embedded building blocks: CPUs, memory hierarchies, DMA, timers, interrupt controllers, and interconnect buses.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing bare-metal control firmware optimized for cycle count and memory footprint.
- Proficiency in C/C++, with a solid grasp of data structures, compilers, and build/version-control tooling.
- Strong debugging instincts and ability to decompose unfamiliar problems from first principles.
Skills
- Exposure to DDR/LPDDR/HBM memory technologies (preferred).
- Experience with RTOS or bare-metal embedded firmware (preferred).
- Understanding of SoC boot architecture (preferred).
