About the Role
The Senior Medical Writer is an integral part of the Real Chemistry Medical Communications division, developing scientific content for various omnichannel medical communication tactics across different therapeutic areas and client brands. This hybrid role can be based in any of our US offices or remotely within the US/Canada, requiring eastern US working hours.
Responsibilities
- Develop core deliverables (e.g., PowerPoint slides, manuscripts, video scripts) and ancillary materials (e.g., participant handouts, moderator guides) for medical communication projects.
- Perform literature searches and analyze scientific research to ensure content is evidence-based and accurate.
- Collaborate with Medical Directors, Creative, and Client Services teams on medical storytelling and strategic recommendations.
- Partner with Presentation and Graphic Designers on illustrations, animations, and creative applications of medical information.
- Build relationships with clients and key opinion leaders to develop scientific content and execute medical communication strategies.
- Conduct quality checks on content-related materials and support Veeva submissions for client reviews.
- Support project management by communicating with Account and Project Managers and participating in meetings.
- Train and mentor junior medical writers under the Medical Director’s guidance.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
Working Conditions
- Occasional nonstandard work hours for project needs, deadlines, and urgent client requests.
- Moderate overnight/weekend travel (up to 20%) based on client geography.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD, MPH, MS) in a healthcare-related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in medical education, scientific research, or clinical practice, or 2-3 years in a pharmaceutical company/medical communications agency with promotional/medical communication experience.
- Expert verbal and written communication skills in medical science.
- Intermediate ability to analyze scientific relevance, validity, and credibility of published literature.
- Understanding of modern digital marketing practices and AI applications.

Pay
Pay Range: $90,000.00–$100,000.00. Compensation determined by job-related, non-discriminatory factors including experience, skills, and location.
