About the role

Safeguards the radiation safety program, adheres to regulatory guidelines, trains staff, oversees radioactive material handling, and performs dosimetric calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and supervises radioactive source handling and disposal.
  • Performs dosimetric calculations for various radiation therapies and conducts weekly chart reviews.
  • Provides medical physics consultation, participates in quality assurance of radiation therapy equipment, and assists in physics coverage at other locations.
  • Conducts performance testing on equipment and supports the development of new programs and technologies.
  • Engages in research and development activities, including clinical trial support.
  • Assists dosimetrists and board-eligible medical physicists in their evaluations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in medical physics or related field [Required]
  • Doctorate in medical physics or related field [Preferred]
  • Graduate from the Medical Physics Therapy Residency Program [Required]
  • OR 3+ years of clinical radiation therapy physics experience [Required]
  • Knowledge of computers and networking [Required]
  • Knowledge of radiation oncology electronics and other medical devices [Required]
  • Knowledge of brachytherapy [Preferred]

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in medical physics or related field [Required]
  • Doctorate in medical physics or related field [Preferred]
  • Medical Physicist in Training (MPT) [Required]
  • Therapeutic Radiology Physicist (TRP) [Required]
  • Therapeutic Med Physics-Cert (TMP-C) [Preferred]

Skills

  • Effective communication skills [Required]
  • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

$183,665.15 - $341,609.74
