Purpose

Provide senior global medical leadership for Transformation, driving the medical strategy, evidence and partnerships needed to enable appropriate, equitable and sustainable adoption of long-acting HIV treatments and prevention across the delivery ecosystem. Lead a small, focused global team and work exceptionally closely with Commercial, as well as Market Access, Policy, Scientific Communications and local operating companies, to translate the clinical value of long-acting options into real-world uptake, service-delivery readiness and system change. Maintain a close, continuous relationship with the long-acting treatment and prevention pipeline so that market-transformation insight actively shapes future evidence, and pipeline progress shapes transformation priorities. Uphold fair, balanced and compliant scientific communication in line with ABPI/PMCPA and applicable codes, and embed community-based participatory approaches so that the perspectives of people affected by HIV, advocacy organisations and service-delivery partners are central to the evidence and transformation agenda.

  • Leadership of a small dedicated global team, plus extensive cross-functional and matrix influence.
  • Deep partnership with Commercial, Market Access and Policy, and a close interface with the long-acting pipeline.
  • Decision rights over medical strategy, evidence prioritisation and external partnership approach, in partnership with the Global Medical Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Work very closely with Commercial, Market Access and Policy to align medical, value and access strategy, and to convert clinical differentiation into credible, compliant real-world value and service-delivery narratives.
  • Maintain a close, structured relationship with the treatment and prevention pipeline, ensuring insight informs evidence generation and that pipeline milestones shape transformation planning.
  • Lead and develop a small, high-performing global team, setting objectives, resourcing priorities and building capability in implementation science and market-shaping.
  • Shape the evidence agenda, including real-world evidence, health outcomes, service-delivery and implementation research, and health-system readiness, in partnership with Health Outcomes, HEOR and R&D.
  • Design and deliver medical education and scientific exchange focused on implementation, service delivery, patient selection and long-acting care pathways, across meetings, symposia and digital platforms.
  • Lead and apply community-based participatory research approaches, partnering with communities, advocacy groups and service-delivery partners to understand acceptability, barriers, stigma and care experience, and to translate these into evidence and transformation initiatives.
  • Provide senior scientific expertise to external experts, guideline bodies, payers, health systems and community stakeholders on long-acting delivery models and market readiness.
  • Ensure the scientific quality and compliance of all medical and promotional activity, proactively identifying and mitigating ABPI/PMCPA risk and acting as senior reviewer/signatory where appropriate.
