Core Responsibilities
- Medical Director Management & Coaching
- Supervise Center Medical Directors
- Ensure priorities align with organization’s goals
- Support Medical Directors in managing teams
- Communicate updates and business priorities
- Offer constructive feedback to providers
- Help medical directors master data-driven tools
- Review quality dashboards and implement initiatives
- Provide managed care perspective
- Understand and communicate provider performance/compensation plans
- Interview, hire, and retain providers
- Develop physician leadership in providers
- Create a pipeline of internal clinical leaders
- Support organizational strategy
- Input into various organizational-wide projects
- Join committees for clinical programs
- Represent the company to external partners
- Create relationships and partnerships
- Supervise interdisciplinary Complex Care Teams
- Supervise Transitions Nurses
- Partner with population health and quality teams
- Participate in documentation and coding activities
- M.D. / D.O. / DNP graduates with license in good standing
- Board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Fellowship training in Geriatrics and/or other professional degrees welcome
- Typically 10+ years experience; Minimum of 5 years of experience in outpatient practice
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in physician management or medical director role
- Extensive experience in clinical leadership roles
- Experience with managed care and/or value-based practice
- Metrics-driven approach to analyzing cost, quality, and satisfaction data
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Commitment to patient population
- Comfort with ambiguity and strong desire for problem solving
