Senior Medical Content Writer, Claims-Capable
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Content Writer to develop evidence-based promotional and educational content for pharmaceutical products. This role focuses on creating and substantiating medical claims, producing MLR-ready content, and collaborating with creative, medical, and regulatory teams to deliver accurate, compliant, and engaging materials.
Job Duties
- Develop, substantiate, and annotate promotional and non-promotional claims using clinical data and scientific literature.
- Create medical content for HCPs, patients, sales materials, digital assets, videos, and disease awareness campaigns.
- Prepare claim substantiation packages and references for MLR review.
- Ensure compliance with FDA/OPDP regulations, fair balance, ISI requirements, and on-label messaging.
- Partner with medical affairs, regulatory, and creative teams to produce high-quality, compliant content.
- Maintain claim libraries and reference documentation.
Education and Experience
- 5-8 years of medical writing experience in pharma, biotech, or a medical communications agency.
- Proven experience writing and substantiating promotional claims.
- Strong understanding of MLR review processes, FDA/OPDP guidelines, and AMA style.
- Ability to interpret clinical trial data, prescribing information, and scientific publications.
- Excellent writing, editing, referencing, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences (PharmD, PhD, MS, or equivalent).
- Experience with Veeva Vault PromoMats.
- Background in oncology, immunology, biologics, or in-house pharmaceutical content teams.
Pay
Pay range: $50 - $68 an Hour on a W2
Schedule
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8 am to 4 pm
Work Type: Hybrid (Tue-Wed-Thu in office)
