Senior Accountant- Patient Revenue

Responsibilities

  • Execute month-end close activities related to patient revenue and accounts receivable, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Perform subsequent collections and lookback analyses to evaluate the accuracy of patient revenue estimates and identify trends.
  • Analyze large volumes of financial and operational data to support revenue recognition, reporting, and business decision-making.
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle Management, Payor Contracting, FP&A, Data Analytics, and other stakeholders to refine revenue assumptions and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Support and lead process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and automation efforts related to revenue recognition and accounting workflows.
  • Design, document, and enhance accounting processes that require cross-functional collaboration, including unapplied cash and patient credit accounting.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures while driving scalable, best-practice solutions.
  • Participate in special projects and other initiatives that support the continued evolution of the accounting function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a complex, multi-entity organization.
  • Healthcare revenue cycle or patient accounting experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, corporate accounting practices, and internal controls.
  • Experience supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting in a high-volume transactional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large, complex data sets and translate findings into meaningful business insights.
  • Experience designing and improving accounting processes, documentation, and internal workflows with a focus on scalability and automation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency working across multiple financial systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for building efficient, scalable accounting processes.
